I hope your Sabbath is going/has gone well! (Actually, at this hour I hope most of you are asleep!)
My post with the Friday Night Greetings for the week is below this one. This is a “bonus” post — if you will — that I wanted to add before I hit the sack here in our hotel.
I was meditating a bit tonight on the importance of being thankful, and thought my thoughts were worth sharing — in particular the connection between thankfulness and peace. Not necessarily deep thoughts, but thoughts I wanted to share. I posted those thoughts on my personal blog and thought it would be good to add a link to that here. Click the title to follow on to the post (it’s a fairly short read): “Thoughtfulness and Peace.”
Howdy, all, and I hope your Friday Night is off to a good start! I’m posting this a little bit early, as my family and I hope to be off to Springfield shortly. I will be giving the sermon there tomorrow morning.
The title of this post refers to the missing sidebar that some of you are mysteriously experiencing. (For those of you who don’t know, the sidebar is the part of the page that appears in a column off to the right side of these posts that contains links, news feeds, etc.) Ben Graham has noticed that the sidebar disappears in Internet Explorer but shows up for (at least some) other browsers, such as Firefox (which I use) and Safari (which my wife uses on her Mac). Knowing this will help us to find a solution, and Ben — who volunteered last Sabbath to become our new local webmaster — and I will meet next week to discuss that problem among other things.
Until then, here is one link that I know several of you would like to access but cannot with the missing sidebar: Local Speaking Schedule
Have a wonderful Sabbath! This week’s Friday Night Greetings video is below.
Howdy, all! My apologies for the lack of a video tonight. I have been running around like a chicken with his head cut off (or would that be a rooster?) the last few days, and I just can’t take the time to make a video in good conscience when I need to get upstairs and spend some time with my family. I know I’m not worth much, but they do seem to like having me around!
I hope you are enjoying the new features on the local website. There are some additional things already in the pipeline, but I’m holding off until I get one new thing in place.
Have a wonderful Sabbath, and I look forward to seeing everyone on St. Louis tomorrow!
Howdy, all! In response to some requests (and after realizing that these feeds even existed!) I have added RSS feeds for the church’s Commentaries and News & Prophecy updates. Generally, several new commentaries and new News & Prophecy updates are added throughout the week to the LCG website. now, you can click through from these RSS feeds (which appear to the right of all of this stuff above the world & US news feeds) to read them yourself on the church website: www.lcg.org.
Howdy, all, and I hope your Sabbath is off to a wonderful start.
I also hope you like the new look of our website. I am working on making it a much more functional site for all of us, as opposed to a place to go only for the speaking schedule and Friday Night Greetings. While I have my own ideas about what to add, I am very much interested in hearing from you, too — what would you like to see on our local website here that would be of help to you? (Someone has already mentioned adding links to the booklets we are currently studying in our Bible Study series — I hope to add those again very soon, if there are not already up by the time you read this.) (EDIT: This is now done. Just click on the “Booklet Links” page heading above.)
Take care and stay warm! This week’s Friday Night Greetings video is below…
Mid-week greetings to those of you who may actually check this out!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to remind all of you that if anyone is experiencing difficulty due to the cold weather and is needing assistance, please let your local elder or deacon know. We don’t want anyone exposed to these harsh conditions unprepared.
(And I hope you like the new look of the website. It may look more boring to some of you, but I think it has a cleaner look. Let me know your thoughts — and stay warm!)
Howdy! I hope this finds you all well. As I type this, we are actually about 30 minutes pre-sundown, here, so I suppose this is Friday Late-Afternoon greetings.
This has been an interesting week, with some contact with folks who would like to attend with us after seeing our telecast. Predicting how such things will turn out is not an easy task, but, still, know that our work is reaching people out there!
I hope some of you (if not all of you) were able to take advantage of the gorgeous weather that we had today — though perhaps I am assuming that it was gorgeous everywhere as opposed to our little corner of Missouri, only.
Wherever you are, I hope your Sabbath is all it is supposed to be! The video for this week is below.
