Happy Friday Night! (Note: Not “Merry Friday Night”…)

Howdy, all, and I hope this world’s festivities today did not impact you negatively! This has been a busy week, but a wonderful one with my family back in town. (Plus, I’ve gone a whole six days since having a car-related mishap of any sort — I’m going for the record!)

Be careful on your way to church. As last Sabbath taught me, ice can be a sneaky beast. I pray that all of you are someplace warm and safe.

Tonight’s Friday Night Greetings video is below. (And in answer to the question that the video might engender: no, I did not get back to the kitchen in time, and, yes, I partook of the chocolatey/peanut buttery treats. Mmmmmm.)

Wow, am I running late tonight! My apologies…

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sabbath! My day was rather busy today, but I will save that for the video, which is below.

Take care!

A visit to the bookshelf…

Howdy, everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Friday evening, as my family and I are. A chilly one to be sure, but a nice one, nonetheless! Tonight’s Friday Night Greetings video takes a quick peek at my bookshelf, looking at two books I am currently reading, as well as two new books I bought earlier today — with gift cards! Hurray for “free”! I had a nice build up of “cashback” points on a credit card, so we ordered a bunch of Borders gift cards and today was our chance to spend a few of them.

I checked out the YouTube Video a moment ago, and the resolution wasn’t the best, but hopefully it will look better when it is finished processing. Also, I wasn’t paying attention to the lighting very well, so at one point I’m afraid I am standing and talking with the ceiling light glaring into the lens. (No, it’s not a halo, I assure you.)

Have a wonderful Sabbath, and we look forward to seeing everyone over the next few weeks as we make the rounds! Tonight’s video is below.

A rambly FNG and a new friend at my local Meineke!

Howdy, everyone, and welcome to the Sabbath! :)

I hope you have had a good week. Things have been great for us, though we are delighted to have begun this wonderful time that God has set apart.

The Friday Night Video is below. In it (which is a bit rambly), I refer to a blog post I wrote recently about the current “Twilight” craze — for those interested, you can go to read that by clicking here. (Or, you could click on “Thoughts En Route” on your right.) However, I have a super-boiled-down-to-only-a-few-sentences comment that covers the essence of it in our local announcements tomorrow, so you could just wait until then and get the Readers-Digest-Plus version if you like. :)

One thing I forgot to mention in the video was the surprise conversation I had with the Meineke auto mechanic today. Somehow in our conversation at the counter while paying my bill, it came up that I was a minister. Then, after I had gotten into my car and put the key in the ignition, he ran out and asked me if he could ask me a few questions, which included an extended discussion about Satan being the “prince of the power of the air.” He thought my analogy about Satan broadcasting like a radio station, hoping you will tune into his attitudes was fantastic, after which I told him that I couldn’t take credit for it since we had been using that analogy in our church since the 30s. So it’s just a reminder — you never know when you might get asked about your beliefs!

Here’s the video. Have a wonderful Sabbath!

P.S. Regardless of how it looks in the two most recent videos, I did change shirts since last Friday. At least once. And I did leave my office corner since last Friday. At least once.
