Saturday Night Greetings!

Howdy, everyone! I apologize that I was not able to do a Friday Night Greetings video yesterday, but with today’s announcements on my mind, I would have found it hard to talk about anything else and I did not want to pre-empt those announcements (as I think I discuss in the video).

There is so much I would like to say — and, you know me, over the next two months I probably will say them! — but it will be better to say them later. Goodbyes can be hard enough, especially when they are stretched out over two months or so! For now, let me just stick with what I have recorded in the video below and I will add, only, that I am very thankful to HQ for putting so much thought and prayer into this transfer and their care and concern for God’s people is apparent.

We really do love you all, and we plan to squeeze in as many visits to each area as we can between now and the beginning of April. The Saturday Night Greetings video is below.

Howdy, everyone! I don’t have much to say tonight other than to mention that we should all be prepared for new folks in our midst. It seems that many are calling us and wanting to attend. St. Louis has seen a great deal of growth already, but folks are calling in from the Rolla and Columbia areas, too. We may even have some visitors in both areas this Sabbath — outstanding!

The Friday Night Greetings are below. Have an absolutely fantastic, uplifting, and edifying Sabbath!

The “minestrone” of the title refers to the soup currently filling my ministerial belly as I struggle to stay awake in the face of pasta-induced sleepiness. :)

I hope you are all well. I know that there are difficulties out there in various places — please know that we are all thinking of you. I hope that the increase in temperature these days has made the weather a bit more bearable for those for whom the cold temps have been so hard.

As I mention in the video tonight, our schedule is going to be rearranged just a bit due to the closing of Rolla last Sabbath, but we should be back on schedule by mid-February. It should only affect sermon speakers save, possibly, for a few rare cases.

Finally, please do remember the family of Mr. John Turner as well as the church members in Haiti in your prayers this Sabbath and in the days that follow.

Howdy, all, and I hope that you are warm and safe, wherever you are! I am currently talking to our local elders and trying to determine whether or not we need to cancel any of our services due to the weather. I hope to make that determination in the next hour or so.

[UPDATE, 6:41PM: We've canceled services in Rolla (if you haven't yet heard, you should get a phone call soon), but they are still open for Columbia & St. Louis. HOWEVER, please use some prayerfully enhanced common sense about whether you should try to get to services based on your own, individual circumstances. This is terrible weather to be in a car accident or stranded alongside the road. There is nothing wrong with personally determining that it is unsafe to travel. Proverbs 22:3 & 27:12 tell us that the prudent man foresees evil (or calamity) and hides himself, while Jesus reminds us in Matthew 4:7 not to tempt God. If you have any questions, please feel free and give me or your local elder a call. -- WGS]

Until then, enjoy the Friday Night Greetings, below! In the video I refer to a blog post. For those who wish to read that post, you can click here: “Thoughts on our leadership in Charlotte.” Also, I have added a link to the Blogroll list on the right to the blog of Mr. Adam West. (I mentioned it earlier this week, but I know that few of you check this website out during the week, so it seemed a good idea to mention it again.)

Take care, and have a wonderful Sabbath!

Howdy, everyone! We have made it safely here to Kansas City. For those of you also traveling here, I hope your trip went as smoothly as ours. For those of you not traveling, well I hope whatever you are doing goes smoothly as well! :)

We are staying here at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Adam West (as I discuss in the video) and it is a real pleasure to be here.

I’ll be brief, as I have some more work to do on my Bible study for tomorrow morning and I want to get to it, but let me say have a wonderful Sabbath, and we look forward to being back in the area with everyone! The Friday Night Greetings video is below…

(UPDATE: Actually, I notice that the video is experiencing some technical difficulties. Hopefully they will be resolved before too long — keep trying if it doesn’t work at first! UPDATE-IER UPDATE: It seems to be working now.)
